The clothes basket is so comfy, mommy!
TODAY’S TIDBIT: It’s a tropical heat wave outside today! In fact it’s hotter here in London than Greece, India and Jamaica. We’ll get your weekend started with some cool Funky Doggy Facts and summer safety tips for your doggy!
Did you know…
- Keep your backyard a “No Bone Zone.” Real bones can splinter and choke your dog or hurt her insides. And bacteria can breed on a real bone that’s left outside in the heat and sun.
- Sand at the beach and hot concrete sidewalks can irritate and burn your dog’s paws. So if he doesn’t want to walk outside it’s probably for a good reason.
- Make sure your dog wears a properly fitted floatation device designed specifically for dogs when he’s in your boat.
- Apply baby sunscreen to your dog’s nose and the tips of her ears to prevent sunburn.
- Keep the gate to your pool tightly closed and padlocked so your dog won’t fall in your pool.
Have a great weekend everybody and try your best to stay cool! Remember to drink lots of water and don’t forget to give your Yorkie lots of fresh water too. See you on Monday for TODAY’S TIDBIT.

How do you like my summer "do", mommy?
TODAY’S TIDBIT: It is muggy and hot today folks! We’re coming into another warm and dry weekend. Let’s start the weekend off with a few Funky Doggy Facts to help keep your doggy cool!
Did you know:
- Dogs regulate their body temperature by panting.
- A dog’s coat acts as insulation and protects him from bug bites and sunburn so shaving your dog in the summer to make him cooler is NOT a good idea.
- Not all dogs are natural swimmers so NEVER leave your dog unattended at the pool.
- Give your dog plenty of fresh water to drink so she stays hydrated. When it’s warm she loses moisture during panting.
- Use a stainless steel bowl for your dog’s water especially outside. Bacteria is more likely to breed in a plastic bowl. And make sure to clean out her water bowl at least once a day if not more.
Enjoy the sunshine everybody! See you on Monday for TODAY’S TIDBIT.
